Citizens Home Advocacy became a recognized leader in the industry after making a commitment as an advocate for homeowners. While other mortgage mitigation companies closed their doors, we accepted open case work to ensure those homeowners were not abandoned.

At the same time, we worked with state legislators to ensure proposed legislation did not infringe on a citizen’s right to seek professional representation when faced with financial hardship or the discovery of mortgage fraud. Our efforts also played a significant role in amending Nevada State Assembly Bill 152, resulting in the creation of the first and only license specific to Loan Modification, Foreclosure Consulting, and Short Payoff Negotiation in the country.

Specifically, our work resulted in legislation that protected homeowners against predatory businesses while allowing citizens to retain their right to seek representation from reputable and regulated firms. Today, homeowners are legally entitled to seek representation by professionals who do not have a stake in their homes.

In Nevada, this also proved to be a critical step in helping homeowners who typically faced unresponsive lenders or wasted valuable time talking with dozens of people and filing paperwork that seemed to go nowhere. It also helped hundreds of homeowners who thought their only option was to foreclose.
